Nicholas Samora, Jr., age 52, a resident of Security since 1985 passed away suddenly on Monday, October 6, 2008. He was an electrician with T - Bone Construction Company. Nick was born on October 14, 1955 in Independence, Kansas to the late Nicholas and Petra (Perez) Samora. He was a 1974 graduate of Harrison High School. He married Dolores C. Reyes on July 3, 1975 in Independence. He served his country in the United States Army for more than 15 years attaining the rank of Sergeant. He had tours with Desert Storm, and also had assignments in Korea, Germany and Greece. "Big Nick" was also was known to his friends and family as "Uncle Duke," "Duces," "Boss Hogg" and "Grandpa Delicious." He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Nick loved the Denver Broncos and the game of golf; but most of all? he loved his work as a Journeyman Electrician. He is survived by his loving wife: Dolores of Security; his children: Teresa Samora of Orlando, Florida; Nicholas (wife, Fania) Samora, III of Colorado Springs; Maria Samora of Colorado Springs and his 5 grandchildren: Lizette, Yazenia, Auralia, Xavier and Laila. Uncle Duke is also survived by his 3 brothers: Vardi of South Bend, Indiana; and Arthur Samora and Anthony Samora; both of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his sister: Amelia Samora in 1993.
