I graduated in 1957 and worked for the Colorado Springs Medical Center until 1961. At that time I married Bob VanDuyn and was divorced in 1968. I went to work for Dr. Frank Forman in 1961 until his death in 1967. During that time I became a Certified Medical Assistant. I could not get paid in the medical field the amount I had been making so decided I would try something different. Went to work for a shopping center (Circle East Mall) as a secretary. It was owned by a group from Oklahoma City. My second husband was one of the owners. He and his father sold their interest to the remaining partners and I became the manager, I worked there until 1969. Moved to Greeley, CO and managed two shopping centers there for John Wheeler of Wheeler Realty. I moved to Oklahoma City in 1972 and married Joe Bob Harrison who died in 1982. I did not work during this marriage. I did do a lot of civic and political volunteering. In 1982 went to work for a small oil company for a short time, then a man who owned an oil company and several hotels, worked for him until 1985. I decided that I would like to work for myself. Started a bookkeeping service. I have 12 clients, four Interior Designers, one man that remodles houses, Doug Paul, who I office with, manages cattle sales and has a livestock newspaper, a homeowners association, a company that manufactures hose (fire hose, drilling hose etc.) he is the largest client I have he has seven stores, another client who owns a small strip shopping center and another who has an advertising agency. I married my present husband in 1988. I now have 3 children that call me mom and 4 grandchildren that call me grandma, I have no children of my own. I like to travel and have been many places in Europe, China, and USA. I am still trying to figure out who that older woman is that looks at me every morning in mirror. This is of probably of little interest, but I was the first person to graduate from Harrison High School that attended the school for 12 years.
