"nellie" was a great friend going back to ppp elem. after graduation and college, he became an iconic teacher in the air academy district. the impact he had on his students was reflected in the huge attendance at his memorial service.
Steve was a friend. He lived one block over from me and he would drive his Orange VW Bug around the neighborhood. It was faster than my old orange VW Karmen Gia. Two VW's racing around Pike's Peak Park neighborhood. Kinda funny now that I think about it. He had a wry sense of humor and could always make me laugh. We would all go down to Giseppie's resturant and eat the best Roast Beef sandwich''s after football games. Wish I could of reconnected with Steve before his passing. Thanks, for the races,laughs and memories.
