Kimberly Barefield - Class Of 1979

Kimberly Ann McIntosh, 50, passed away the morning of October 2, 2011 at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, with her sister by her side after a brief battle with kidney cancer. Kimberly, a Colorado Native was born June 22, 1961 in Colorado Springs at the Air Force Academy to James Frank and Margarete (Marlene) Barefield. Kimberly spent most of her life in Colorado Springs and graduated from Harrison High School in 1979. Kimberly married Tony Garal McIntosh Jr. on August 10, 1984. Their son, Trevor Garal McIntosh, was born a year later on August 20, 1985. Kimberly was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She worked in the hotel industry before starting at Kirmer and Company, P.C. where she happily spent over 26 years. Kimberly always had a song on her voice, a contagious smile, and exuded positivity in every part of her life. She showed her love through cooking and caring for her family and doggies. She enjoyed camping, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family and close friends. She will be dearly missed. Kimberly is survived by husband, Tony McIntosh Jr.; son, Trevor McIntosh; brothers Frank Barefield, Ryan Barefield and Kevin Joslyn; sisters, Monique Barefield-Weger and Belinda Joslyn; several loving nieces, nephews and extended family; her best friend, Janis Wellington and, of course, her doggies. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marlene Barefield; father, James Frank Barefield and step-father, Ed Joslyn. A visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice.
