I lived next door to Mory on Olympic Dr. in Pikes Peak Park.  We went to school together from 2nd grade to our high school graduation.  As young kids we played together every day.  Mory was a gentle and reserved person.  As kids we made many a trip to 7 Eleven to get an icee and candy.  I have so many wonderful memories of Mory.  I was fortunate to have him as a friend.

We used to tease him that his name was 'Rodriguez' but he had bright red hair!  He was a fun guy.

Mory was my best friend at Monterey Elm. We would play outside on the hill next to the school with out Match Box cars and make little cities in the heard packed dirt. We had roads that would lead all over the side of the hill side. When it would rain, or when some 5th grader would wreck our towns, we would just build it all over again and not miss a beat. We had Mr. Jeff Clemer during 6th grade at Monterey and we had a writing assignment and we would give our paper to someone to read and grade as Mr Clemer would read off the answers. Mory got a big laugh because I spelled girl....gril. To this day, I still rememver how we both laughed in class and Mr Clemer told us to knock it off.

During that time, we also had our yo-yo's and we would try all kinds of trick before and after school. Mory had a glow in the dark yo-yo and mine was clear red.

God how I miss those days with him and all the rest of my childhood friends.

Rory stopped on Circle (the hill) in his flat black, 1950’s something pickup, and offered me a ride home as I lived around the corner from him on Carmel.  He said “you want to hear some kick ass tunes?”......and put an AC/DC tape in his cassette player.  That was the first time I heard BACK IN BLACK and it was awesome!!!!  We were friends from there on.  I believe I introduced Dave Andrus to AC/DC shortly thereafter.......or maybe I’m just old! Rory, thank you for your friendship......you are still very much missed.  Peace.
