Jacqueline Beardslee (Duxbury) - Class Of 1973

Jacqueline Lou Duxbury, age 65, of Butte, Montana, passed away on June 1, 2020. Jacqueline was born on August 7, 2020, to Elden Clarence “Doc” and Opal Ramey Beardslee in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jacqueline was raised and spent much of her life in Colorado Springs. She received her master’s degree in education with a minor in music and a minor in Marine Biology. On September 5, 1998, she married Rich Duxbury in Colorado Springs and moved with Rich to Butte, Montana.

Jacqueline was primarily a music teacher and taught music and drum major in MO, OK, CO, and KS. She also worked for Albertson Grocery in Colorado and Montana for 13 years and worked for Montana State Prison as a guard for 11 years. Rich and Jacqueline owned and operated the Red Bear Mountain Trading Post in Virginia City, Montana.

Jacqueline’s hobbies included music of all kinds, horses, skiing, golf, camping, and fly fishing. She loved to make jewelry, glass beads, and leatherwork. Jacqueline also greatly enjoyed visiting with family and friends for a good get-together, BBQ, or talk. Jacqueline was a member of Back Country Horseman, Lampwork Makers Glass Society, and Briggs Ranch Arena.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, Elden “Doc” and Opal Beardslee. Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Rich Allen Duxbury of Butte, MT; her stepdaughter, Pasha Michelle Oldham of Townsend, MT, her grandchildren, Caleb and Jessica Bryan of Vicksburg, MS, Leah and Cris McCahill of Glasgow, UK, Kathleen Bryan of Helena, MT, and Scott and Anliese Bryan of Roanoke, VA;  her great-grandchildren, Mal Scarlett Ryan, Melody Ziebeil, Alan Mrock, Enic Bryan; nephews, Sam and Leanna Duxbury and Ryan and Nicole Duxbury; and her brother-in-law, Bruce Duxbury.
