In Memory

Alfonso Martinez

My name is Valerie Martinez and my father Alfonso Martinez was on the school board for years and even named a few schools like Sierra High School

Alfonso was a wonderful family man and a great person. He was a decorated Soldier of the US Army and he received the Silver and Bronze Star as well as the Purple Heart.

He passed away in January of 2009. He is deeply missed and was well respected in our community. He had very strong values on education and called for changes to better both staff and students at district #2.  His wife Cecelia also retired from Carmel Jr High as a Cook in the cafeteria.

Mr. Martinez is deeply missed by both friends and family!

Daddy, I miss you so.. I will do what ever I can to let people know or remind them when you were a part of Harrison District 2. You had a lot of good ideas to make our schools a better and safe place to Learn. I Love You for Caring about others.
